Privacy Policy

Reel Time Creations (“FISHON,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the FISHON mobile application, this website, and related services (together, the “Platform”). FISHON helps anglers find and save fishing spots, log their catches, read local fishing reports, and communicate with other anglers.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Platform, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits our website or uses the FISHON app.

We do not sell your personal information.

Please read Section 6 before you post. FISHON is currently a fully public platform. Everything you post, including catches, spots, reports, photographs, and the location information attached to them, is visible to everyone. There is no private or friends-only setting at this time. See Section 6 for what that means for your fishing spots and your photographs.

We collect the following categories of information.

Information you give us. When you create an account we collect your name or chosen handle, email address, and password. You may optionally add a profile photo, home water, target species, and a short biography.

Content you post. This includes catch entries, photographs and their embedded metadata, species and measurement details, spot names and notes, fishing reports, comments, and messages you send through the Platform.

Location information. With your permission, we collect precise device location to show nearby spots and reports and to attach a location to a catch. You can turn this off in your device settings at any time. Any location you attach to a post is shown publicly at the precision you provided.

Photograph metadata. Photographs taken on a phone commonly carry hidden EXIF metadata, including the exact GPS coordinates, date, and time the picture was taken. FISHON does not currently remove this metadata from the photographs you upload. Assume that a photograph you post reveals precisely where and when it was taken. See Section 6.

Information collected automatically. Like most online services, our servers automatically record domain names, IP addresses, device and operating system type, browser type, referring pages, and the dates and times of requests. We use this for security, troubleshooting, and understanding aggregate usage.

Communications. If you contact support, we keep a record of that correspondence so we can respond and improve the service.

We use the information described above to:

• Create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
• Operate core features, including the spot map, catch log, reports feed, and chat.
• Show you spots, reports, and anglers relevant to where you are fishing.
• Send service messages such as confirmations, security alerts, and changes to our terms or policies.
• Send optional product updates and marketing, which you can opt out of at any time.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, poaching, and violations of our community rules.
• Produce aggregated and de-identified statistics, for example the number of reports filed on a river system in a season. This information does not identify you and may be shared publicly or with conservation partners.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We share information only in the circumstances described here. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your precise location with advertisers.

With other users, and with the public. Your handle, your profile details, and everything you post are public. That includes catches, saved spots, reports, comments, photographs, and any location data attached to them. Public content can be viewed by anyone, including people without a FISHON account, and it may be indexed by search engines or copied by others once it is posted. Direct messages are the exception: those are visible only to the participants in the conversation.

With service providers. We use vendors to host our infrastructure, store images, send email, process payments, and analyze usage. They may access information only as needed to perform those functions for us.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of FISHON, our users, or the public. This includes cooperating with wildlife and fisheries authorities investigating illegal activity.

Business transfers. If FISHON is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

You can review and edit most of your information directly in the app under Settings. In addition, you may:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
• Delete your account, which removes your profile and content from public view. Some records may be retained where we have a legal obligation or a legitimate need to keep them, such as fraud prevention or backup integrity.
• Withdraw permissions, including location access and push notifications, through your device settings.
• Opt out of marketing email using the unsubscribe link in any such message, or by writing to info@fishonapp.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation or the California Consumer Privacy Act. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.

Fishing spots are sensitive. A precise coordinate can expose a fragile stretch of water to crowding or poaching, and it can also say more about your movements than you intend. Please read this section carefully, because FISHON works differently from platforms that offer private posting.

What FISHON does today. The Platform is public by default and there is no way to restrict who sees a post. We do not blur, round, or otherwise reduce the precision of the locations you attach, and we do not remove GPS metadata from the photographs you upload. Treat anything you post as permanently public and precisely located.

• Everything is public. Every spot, catch, and report you post is visible to everyone. We do not currently offer private spots, friends-only sharing, or per-post audience controls.
• Locations are shown as given. A location you attach to a post is displayed at the precision you provided, not as a general area.
• Photo metadata is retained. We do not strip EXIF data from uploads. A photograph you post may reveal the exact coordinates, date, and time it was taken, including for pictures taken somewhere other than the water, such as at home.
• Background location. We do not track your location when the app is closed.

If you want to keep a spot or a location to yourself, do not post it. You can strip location data from a photograph before uploading it using your phone's share options on iOS or the photo details screen on Android, and you can remove or edit a location before publishing a post.

We intend to add private spots, reduced location precision, and automatic EXIF removal in a future release. Until this policy says otherwise, assume none of those protections are in place.

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. Data is encrypted in transit, and passwords are stored using industry standard hashing.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please choose a strong, unique password and let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

We work with third parties to operate and improve the Platform, including hosting, mapping, analytics, and communications providers. These providers may collect information about your use of the Platform on our behalf, and some of them may use cookies or similar technologies to help us evaluate the performance of our marketing. FISHON is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of these companies, and we encourage you to review their policies.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and improve the experience. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when one is being sent, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

The Platform may contain links to websites operated by others, such as state fishing regulations, weather services, gear retailers, or conservation groups. Those websites are not governed by this Privacy Policy, and we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.

FISHON is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Anglers between 13 and 18 should review this policy with a parent or guardian.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we will provide a more prominent notice such as an in-app message or email. This policy is effective as of August 10, 2026.
